 WHAT IS WORLD ART DAY

World Art Day is celebrated on April 15th every year to honor the contributions of artists and promote the importance of art in our lives. This day marks the birthday of the famous artist, Leonardo da Vinci, who is regarded as one of the greatest artists of all time.

HISTORY/SIGNIFICANCE OF WORLD ART DAY

The International Association of Art (IAA) was founded in 1954 in UNESCO's headquarters in Paris, to promote art and artists worldwide. The organization aims to encourage international cooperation among artists, promote the exchange of ideas, and foster the development of cultural diversity. In 2011, IAA proposed to celebrate "World Art Day" at its 17th General Assembly held  Guadalajara, Mexico and the first World Art Day was celebrated on April 15, 2012 to commerate the birth anniversary of world famous artist, Leonardo da Vinci.

Art is defined as a skill in its original or purest form. It is an essential part of human culture and has been used throughout history to express emotions, tell stories, and capture the beauty of the world around us. It unites the whole world with a strong bond that affects our lives. This day provides an opportunity to reflect on the importance of art and its impact on society. It also recognizes the contributions of artists and their significant role in shaping our culture. The World Art Day promotes art as a means of fostering creativity, encouraging cultural diversity, and promoting social change. It nurtures creativity, innovation and cultural diversity for all peoples across the globe and plays an important role in sharing knowledge and encouraging curiosity and dialogue. In this way, furthering the development of art also furthers our means to achieve a free and peaceful world. It is also an occasion to shine a light on arts education in schools, as culture can pave the way for inclusive and equitable education. It brings every community together which became very clear during covid -19. Art is a fundamental aspect of human expression and has played a significant role in shaping our history, culture, and identity. It encompasses a broad range of disciplines, including painting, sculpture, literature, music, dance, theater, film, and photography.

This year's theme is 'Art is good for the health'.

HOW WE CELEBRATE WORLD ART DAY

1. There is much to learn, share and celebrate on World Art Day, and UNESCO encourages everyone to join in through various activities such as debates, conferences, workshops, cultural events and presentations or exhibitions.

2. People engage in creative activities such as visiting galleries and museums, attending concerts or plays, or creating their own artwork.

कलाकारों के योगदान का सम्मान करने और हमारे जीवन में कला के महत्व को बढ़ावा देने के लिए हर साल 15 अप्रैल को विश्व कला दिवस मनाया जाता है। इस दिन प्रसिद्ध कलाकार लियोनार्डो दा विंची का जन्मदिन है, जिन्हें अब तक के सबसे महान कलाकारों में से एक माना जाता है।

हम विश्व कला दिवस कैसे मनाते हैं

1. विश्व कला दिवस पर सीखने, साझा करने और जश्न मनाने के लिए बहुत कुछ है, और यूनेस्को सभी को बहस, सम्मेलन, कार्यशाला, सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम और प्रस्तुतियों या प्रदर्शनियों जैसी विभिन्न गतिविधियों के माध्यम से इसमें शामिल होने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करता है।
