WORLD HERITAGE DAY 18 APRIL

 WHAT IS WORLD HERITAGE DAY

World Heritage Day is observed on April 18th, every year. The aim is to make people aware of our precious cultural heritage and to protect and preserve the historical monuments all over the world. This day also aims to recognize the efforts of individuals and organizations working towards safeguarding our natural assets worldwide.The day was first celebrated by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1983. This day is also known as International Monuments and Sites Day to signify the work carried out by the ICOMOS – International Council on Monuments and Sites. India is home to 3691 monuments and sites and out of these, 40 are designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Taj Mahal, Ajanta and Ellora caves. 

THEME FOR THE YEAR 2023

Every year, there is a theme around which events take place. The World Heritage Day 2023 theme is "Heritage Changes". 

HOW TO CELEBRATE THIS DAY

1. All over the world this day is celebrated differently with visits to monuments and heritage sites

2. Various conferences and round tables are also held to increase awareness among general public not to degrade our national heritage and preserve it for the next generations

3. Journalists write newspaper articles for recognizing the efforts of Government and Non-Government organisations in conserving our heritage sites.

4. Events and activities are organized around the world to promote awareness about cultural heritage and its importance in society. This may include tours of cultural heritage sites, exhibitions, cultural performances, and workshops on heritage preservation and conservation.

INDIA'S EFFORTS IN THIS DIRECTION

1. "Bharat Darshan Park" is built up by Delhi Govt in Punjabi bagh area of New Delhi wherein mini structures of famous Indian monumnents are built with waste material.

2. "Waste to wonder Theme park" is also an effort in this direction wherein mini structures of 7 wonders of the world are built with waste material.

विश्व विरासत दिवस क्या है

विश्व विरासत दिवस हर साल 18 अप्रैल को मनाया जाता है। इसका उद्देश्य लोगों को हमारी बहुमूल्य सांस्कृतिक विरासत के बारे में जागरूक करना और पूरे विश्व में ऐतिहासिक स्मारकों की रक्षा और संरक्षण करना है। इस दिन का उद्देश्य दुनिया भर में हमारी प्राकृतिक संपत्ति की सुरक्षा के लिए काम करने वाले व्यक्तियों और संगठनों के प्रयासों को पहचानना भी है। यह दिन पहली बार 1983 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र शैक्षिक, वैज्ञानिक और सांस्कृतिक संगठन (यूनेस्को) द्वारा मनाया गया था। इस दिन को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्मारक और स्थल के रूप में भी जाना जाता है। ICOMOS - स्मारकों और स्थलों पर अंतर्राष्ट्रीय परिषद द्वारा किए गए कार्यों को दर्शाने के लिए दिन। भारत 3691 स्मारकों और स्थलों का घर है और इनमें से 40 ताजमहल, अजंता और एलोरा गुफाओं सहित यूनेस्को की विश्व धरोहर स्थलों को नामित किया गया है।

वर्ष 2023 के लिए थीम

हर साल एक थीम होती है जिसके इर्द-गिर्द कार्यक्रम होते हैं। विश्व विरासत दिवस 2023 की थीम "विरासत परिवर्तन" है।

इस दिन को कैसे सेलिब्रेट करें

1. पूरी दुनिया में इस दिन को स्मारकों और विरासत स्थलों की यात्रा के साथ अलग-अलग तरीके से मनाया जाता है

2. हमारी राष्ट्रीय विरासत को खराब न करने और आने वाली पीढ़ियों के लिए इसे संरक्षित करने के लिए आम जनता में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए विभिन्न सम्मेलन और गोलमेज भी आयोजित किए जाते हैं।

3. पत्रकार हमारे विरासत स्थलों के संरक्षण में सरकारी और गैर-सरकारी संगठनों के प्रयासों को पहचानने के लिए समाचार पत्रों में लेख लिखते हैं।

4. सांस्कृतिक विरासत और समाज में इसके महत्व के बारे में जागरूकता को बढ़ावा देने के लिए दुनिया भर में कार्यक्रम और गतिविधियां आयोजित की जाती हैं। इसमें सांस्कृतिक विरासत स्थलों के दौरे, प्रदर्शनियां, सांस्कृतिक प्रदर्शन और विरासत संरक्षण और संरक्षण पर कार्यशालाएं शामिल हो सकती हैं।

इस दिशा में भारत के प्रयास

1. "भारत दर्शन पार्क" दिल्ली सरकार द्वारा नई दिल्ली के पंजाबी बाग क्षेत्र में बनाया गया है, जिसमें प्रसिद्ध भारतीय स्मारकों की छोटी-छोटी संरचनाएँ बेकार सामग्री से बनाई गई हैं।

2. "वेस्ट टू वंडर थीम पार्क" भी इसी दिशा में एक प्रयास है, जिसमें दुनिया के 7 अजूबों की छोटी-छोटी संरचनाएं बेकार सामग्री से बनाई जाती हैं।
