5 DAYS BANKING

 Currently, bank employees are working on alternate Saturdays which leads to lot of confusion among the customers. Even LIC has accepted 5 day week proposal ahead of its listing. This has intensified the bankers to aggressively demand 5 days banking for themselves. According to the Banking industry, internet banking, mobile banking and other online modes of working have increased manifold over the years especially during the last 3 years after the outbreak of covid-19. Banks have also started moving their customers to self service kiosks like passbook printing, cheque deposit, cash acceptance etc.

In a recent breakthrough, negotiations between Indian Banks Association (IBA) and United Forum of Bank Employees have progressed with the association agreeing in principle for a five day week in exchange of longer hours. Now the proposal has been put up to the Government and RBI shall also have to accept the proposal as it decides the timings of most interbank activities. As per the latest information, employees have to work 40 minutes longer than before from 9:45 am to 5:30 pm. 

वर्तमान में, बैंक कर्मचारी वैकल्पिक शनिवार को काम कर रहे हैं जिससे ग्राहकों में बहुत भ्रम की स्थिति है। यहां तक ​​कि एलआईसी ने भी लिस्टिंग से पहले 5 दिन का सप्ताह का प्रस्ताव स्वीकार कर लिया है। इसने बैंकरों को आक्रामक रूप से अपने लिए 5 दिनों की बैंकिंग की मांग करने के लिए प्रेरित किया है। बैंकिंग उद्योग के अनुसार, इंटरनेट बैंकिंग, मोबाइल बैंकिंग और काम करने के अन्य ऑनलाइन तरीके पिछले कुछ वर्षों में विशेष रूप से पिछले 3 वर्षों के दौरान कोविड-19 के प्रकोप के बाद कई गुना बढ़ गए हैं। बैंकों ने भी अपने ग्राहकों को पासबुक प्रिंटिंग, चेक डिपॉजिट, कैश एक्सेप्टेंस आदि जैसे सेल्फ सर्विस कियोस्क पर ले जाना शुरू कर दिया है।

हाल ही में एक सफलता में, भारतीय बैंक संघ (IBA) और यूनाइटेड फोरम ऑफ़ बैंक एम्प्लॉइज के बीच बातचीत आगे बढ़ी है और एसोसिएशन लंबे समय के बदले पांच दिन के सप्ताह के लिए सैद्धांतिक रूप से सहमत हो गया है। अब प्रस्ताव सरकार के सामने रखा गया है और आरबीआई को भी प्रस्ताव को स्वीकार करना होगा क्योंकि यह अधिकांश इंटरबैंक गतिविधियों का समय तय करता है। ताजा जानकारी के मुताबिक कर्मचारियों को सुबह 9:45 बजे से शाम 5:30 बजे तक पहले की तुलना में 40 मिनट अधिक काम करना पड़ रहा है.
