Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, a film by Luv Ranjan is simply boring and unbearable. The first two hours drag endlessly, and the film only picks up—pace and life—in the last 20 minutes.
The film revolves around Micky (Ranbir Kapoor) and Tinny (Shraddha Kapoor), who meet at their friends’ bachelor party in Spain. Micky belongs to Delhi based business famil and Tinny, on the other hand, has a regular nine-to-five job and aspires to lead an independent life. Eventually, Micky falls hard for Tinny, and what happens next forms the crux of the story. The movie shows Micky as a more lovable character than Tinny. He is a family-oriented person, while Tinny isn’t. “What will you do if your boyfriend takes you out on a date and it turns out to be a date with his entire family?” is the pressing question this film tries to answer.
Ranbir Kapoor is probably the only actor who delivers a decent performance—everyone else either has bad lines or is overacting. Shraddha Kapoor is terrible in the emotional scenes and adds nothing to make you root for her.
The role of Dimple Kapadi is underutilised and unjustified while Boney Kapoor is completely wasted in his role as Ranbir’s father.
Even the songs do not add any masala in the movie as they seem outdated and from the 1990s film. Only Samidha Wagnoo’s costumes deserve a special mention because everyone manages to look amazing despite not being entertaining.
The dialogues, too, are basic at best. Moreover, the ‘solution’ offered in the last bit of the film is superficial. Micky’s family is ultra-progressive and supportive, and at the end Tinny had to give up.
The last 20 minutes is where the film becomes enenjoyable, with witty dialogues,comedy and an airport scene. But it got too late by then.
लव रंजन की एक फिल्म तू झूठी मैं मक्कार बस उबाऊ और असहनीय है। पहले दो घंटे अंतहीन खींचे जाते हैं, और फिल्म केवल अंतिम 20 मिनट में ही गति और जीवन पकड़ लेती है।
यह फिल्म मिकी (रणबीर कपूर) और टिनी (श्रद्धा कपूर) के इर्द-गिर्द घूमती है, जो स्पेन में अपने दोस्तों की बैचलर पार्टी में मिलते हैं। मिकी दिल्ली स्थित व्यवसायिक परिवार से ताल्लुक रखता है और दूसरी ओर टिन्नी नियमित रूप से नौ से पांच की नौकरी करती है और एक स्वतंत्र जीवन जीने की इच्छा रखती है। आखिरकार, मिकी टिन्नी के लिए मुश्किल हो जाता है, और आगे क्या होता है कहानी का सार बनता है। फिल्म मिकी को टिनी की तुलना में अधिक प्यारा चरित्र के रूप में दिखाती है। वह एक पारिवारिक व्यक्ति है, जबकि टिन्नी नहीं है। "यदि आपका प्रेमी आपको डेट पर ले जाता है और यह उसके पूरे परिवार के साथ डेट हो जाता है तो आप क्या करेंगी?" यह फिल्म जिस अहम सवाल का जवाब देने की कोशिश करती है।
रणबीर कपूर शायद एकमात्र ऐसे अभिनेता हैं जो एक अच्छा प्रदर्शन देते हैं- बाकी सभी की या तो खराब लाइनें हैं या ओवरएक्टिंग है। श्रद्धा कपूर इमोशनल दृश्यों में भयानक हैं और आपको उनके लिए जड़ बनाने के लिए कुछ भी नहीं जोड़ती हैं।
डिंपल कपाड़ी की भूमिका का पूरा उपयोग नहीं किया गया और अनुचित है जबकि बोनी कपूर रणबीर के पिता के रूप में अपनी भूमिका में पूरी तरह से बर्बाद हो गए हैं।
यहां तक कि गाने भी फिल्म में कोई मसाला नहीं डालते हैं क्योंकि वे पुराने और 1990 के दशक की फिल्म से लगते हैं। केवल समिधा वागनू की वेशभूषा ही विशेष उल्लेख के योग्य है क्योंकि मनोरंजक न होने के बावजूद हर कोई अद्भुत दिखने का प्रबंधन करता है।
संवाद भी, सबसे अच्छे रूप में बुनियादी हैं। इसके अलावा, फिल्म के आखिरी हिस्से में पेश किया गया 'समाधान' सतही है। मिकी का परिवार अति-प्रगतिशील और सहायक है, और अंत में टिनी को हार माननी पड़ी।
आखिरी 20 मिनट में फिल्म मजेदार हो जाती है, मजाकिया डायलॉग्स, कॉमेडी और एयरपोर्ट सीन के साथ। लेकिन तब तक बहुत देर हो चुकी थी।
