Actor-writer-director Satish Kaushik passed away at the age of 66 in Gurugram on March 8. His body will be brought to Mumbai after a postmortem is conducted. He complained of uneasiness and suffered a heart attack on his way to the hospital.
His close associate and best friend Anupam Kher announced the sad news on Twitter. Kher's Tweet stated, "I know 'death is the ultimate truth of this world' But I never thought in my dreams that I would write this thing about my best friend #SatishKaushik while alive. Such a sudden full stop on friendship of 45 years!! Life will NEVER be the same without you SATISH! Om Shanti!" Kher also shared a black and white photo where he and Kaushik are seen together.
Kangana Ranaut also reacted to the news and shared, "Woke up to this horrible news, he was my biggest cheerleader, a very successful actor and director #SatishKaushik ji personally was also a very kind and genuine man, I loved directing him in Emergency. He will be missed, Om Shanti."
The whole film industry is mourning this sudden loss to the whole industry.
Satish Kaushik was born on April 13, 1956. He is survived by his wife and daughter. He graduated from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University in the year 1972 and National School of Drama in 1978. His breakout role was that of the character Calendar in Shekhar Kapur's Mr India. He had also made an impact with early releases like Jaane Bhi Do Yaro, Mandi and Woh 7 Din. Kaushik made a transition to direction with Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja. Tere Naam and Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain are some of his popular films as director. He has received Filmfare Best Comedian award for Ram Lakhan (1990) and for Sajan Chale Sasural.

उनके करीबी सहयोगी और सबसे अच्छे दोस्त अनुपम खेर ने ट्विटर पर दुखद समाचार की घोषणा की। खेर के ट्वीट में कहा गया है, 'मुझे पता है कि 'मृत्यु इस दुनिया का अंतिम सत्य है' लेकिन मैंने कभी सपने में भी नहीं सोचा था कि मैं अपने सबसे अच्छे दोस्त सतीश कौशिक के बारे में जिंदा रहते हुए ये बात लिखूंगा. 45 साल की दोस्ती पर ऐसा अचानक फुल स्टॉप! आपके बिना जीवन पहले जैसा नहीं रहेगा सतीश! ओम शांति!" खेर ने एक ब्लैक एंड व्हाइट तस्वीर भी साझा की जिसमें वह और कौशिक एक साथ नजर आ रहे हैं।
कंगना रनौत ने भी इस खबर पर प्रतिक्रिया दी और साझा किया, "इस भयानक खबर से जाग गई, वह मेरे सबसे बड़े चीयरलीडर थे, एक बहुत ही सफल अभिनेता और निर्देशक # सतीश कौशिक जी व्यक्तिगत रूप से भी एक बहुत ही दयालु और सच्चे इंसान थे, मुझे उन्हें इमरजेंसी में निर्देशित करना बहुत पसंद था। उनकी कमी खलेगी, ओम शांति।"

सतीश कौशिक का जन्म 13 अप्रैल, 1956 को हुआ था। उनके परिवार में पत्नी और बेटी हैं। उन्होंने 1972 में किरोड़ीमल कॉलेज, दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय और 1978 में राष्ट्रीय नाट्य विद्यालय से स्नातक किया। उनकी ब्रेकआउट भूमिका शेखर कपूर के मिस्टर इंडिया में चरित्र कैलेंडर की थी। उन्होंने जाने भी दो यारो, मंडी और वो 7 दिन जैसी शुरुआती रिलीज के साथ भी प्रभाव डाला था। कौशिक ने रूप की रानी चोरों का राजा के साथ निर्देशन में कदम रखा। निर्देशक के रूप में तेरे नाम और हम आपके दिल में रहते हैं उनकी कुछ लोकप्रिय फिल्में हैं। उन्हें राम लखन (1990) और साजन चले ससुराल के लिए फिल्मफेयर सर्वश्रेष्ठ हास्य अभिनेता का पुरस्कार मिला है।
