IMPORTANCE OF FAMILIES
1. Family is the first school of a child where a child learns social, cultural, language and emotional skills. A child learns how to care about each other, share things with other family members. He grows up and matures in a family to become a responsible country citizen. He also understands the value of cooperation and team spirit.
2. The family is the basic unit of a society and it plays a very essential role in nurturing an individual. It is the family only that inculcates values in an individual and a dose of correct and meaningful values shape an individual's life and hence the nation.
3. There is huge importance of strong family bonds for the overall development and well-being of individuals, particularly children.
4. There are basically two types of families- Nuclear and Joint. A nuclear family consists of parents and their children. While a joint family may consist of parents, their children, parent's parents, parent's uncles and aunts and thier children and so on. "International day of families" is observed on May 15th every year to promote the importance of families and their significant role in the society. Family is the foundation as well as backbone of a society. On this day, the Government recognizes the contributions of families and promote family-oriented policies.
HISTORY OF INTERNATIONAL DAY OF FAMILIES
The International Day of Families was established by the United Nations in 1993 to raise awareness about the importance of families and to promote the role of families in society. The day is observed every year to recognise the unique bond and love that families share.
THEME OF INTERNATIONAL DAY OF FAMILIES 2023
The theme of the day varies each year and highlights different aspects of family life. In 2023, the theme for International Family Day is 'Demographic Trends and Families'. In the previous year, the theme was 'Families and Urbanisation
HOW WE CELEBRATE THIS DAY
1. Various organizations organize events and activities to promote the importance of families, such as family fun days, picnics, workshops, seminars, and conferences.
2. Schools also organise special assemblies and activities to raise awareness about the importance of families.
3. Additionally, social media platforms may also be used to spread awareness about the day and encourage people to share their family stories and photos using hashtags related to the day.

1. परिवार बच्चे की पहली पाठशाला है जहाँ बच्चा सामाजिक, सांस्कृतिक, भाषाई और भावनात्मक कौशल सीखता है। एक बच्चा सीखता है कि एक-दूसरे की देखभाल कैसे करें, परिवार के अन्य सदस्यों के साथ चीजें कैसे साझा करें। वह एक जिम्मेदार देश का नागरिक बनने के लिए एक परिवार में बड़ा होता है और परिपक्व होता है। वह सहयोग और टीम भावना के मूल्य को भी समझते हैं।
